The Ogun State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service says it has intercepted 276 kegs of smuggled petrol and 13 used cars within the last one week. Madugu said the command also seized 17 motorcycles, six sacks of used clothes and shoes and two other vehicles used for transporting the smuggled goods. He added that all the seizures, excluding the petroleum products, had a total payable value of N67.2m. He said the intelligence arm of the command and members of the public in the Idiroko area availed the operatives with information, which led to the current seizures. Madugu said the smuggling of petroleum products seemed to be on the increase now.
