A staff reporterNew Town: A 53-year-old man riding home on his bicycle died after being hit by a motorcycle near the Dhankol crossing in New Town on Monday. Gani Mondal had taken a right turn without checking for other vehicles or indicating that he wanted to take a turn when the motorcycle hit him, police said. He fell and landed head-first on a stone. Residents and shopkeepers took him to a government health-care unit where doctors failed to revive him. Police have started a case against the motorcyclist who escaped.
