The vast majority of folk who are vulnerable to serious illness from Covid have had the offer of a vaccine. Variants of Covid-19 are going to be a part of life for the next two years at least. So far there is no evidence that the Indian variant, for example, evades the vaccines. And then we would exit summer fully vaccinated but heading into another winter where seasonal illnesses like Covid inevitably peak again. The Indian variant is on the rise in Great Britain because the government didn't lock down the border fast enough.
