PETALING JAYA: DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) has called on newly-appointed MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya to reopen the investigation into the death of Teoh Beng Hock. "It is with sincere hope that Latheefa will be implementing drastic measures in reforming MACC, eliminating the culture of corruption that permeates different levels, including launching new disciplinary investigation on the case of Teoh Beng Hock, and taking firm action against the officers involved in it," Chiong said. The Tanah Rata assemblyman said it is "intolerable to see MACC officers involved in the Teoh Beng Hock case remain at large, while some of them are even more successful than before with promotion and wealth". "Latheefa, who had worked with the Selangor government before, must have understood clearly the political persecution staged by the old regime and MACC towards Pakatan Harapan, with Teoh Beng Hock being the innocent victim who sacrificed," he said. He added that investigation by MACC on the relevant officers must not be delayed.
