Parking at the Railway North, St Andrew St and Thomas Burns car parks will increase, all costing $6 per day. Swimming charges at the Mosgiel Pool and the St Clair Hot Salt Water Pool are also set to rise. A report prepared by council senior policy analyst Sean Jacobs on fees and charges said, in most cases, the increase was about 3%. Some fees will remain unchanged, including council social housing rent and the cost of parking on metered street parks. Mr Jacobs said because the Government had frozen rent increases, initially until September 26, a proposed rent increase would start from January 1 next year to provide adequate notice for tenants.
