The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has said that inquiries into the reported disappearance of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju suggest a carefully staged and self-orchestrated incident, rejecting earlier claims that he had been abducted or trailed by suspicious vehicles. Investigators said the movements and interactions of vehicles reportedly involved in the reported disappearance indicate prior planning and voluntary participation in the incident. The investigation reportedly found that several individuals were involved in coordinating the event. The DCI said it is following up with these persons of interest, who are believed to have planned, coordinated, and carried out the reported staged disappearance. The DCI also addressed earlier reports suggesting that Tuju was being trailed by suspicious vehicles.
