DNCC chief engineer dismissed over allegations of negligence, corruption


Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has temporarily suspended its Additional Chief Engineer Mohammad Arifur Rahman over allegations of negligence in duty, corruption, and embezzlement of funds. According to an office order signed by DNCC Secretary Muhammad Asaduzzaman on Sunday, Arifur Rahman was found to have carried out procurement activities in violation of the Financial Delegation of Power–2025, the Public Procurement Act 2006, and the Public Procurement Rules–2025. The order stated that, under Rule 49 (subsections a, b, d, e, and f) of the DNCC Employees Service Rules 2019, Arifur Rahman has been temporarily suspended on charges of negligence in performing official duties, misconduct, inefficiency, corruption, and embezzlement of funds. The suspension order was issued with the approval of the appropriate authority, the document added.
