DOST wants MSMEs better prepared during disastersIloilo City – A forum on disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will look into the preparedness of micro, small and medium enterprises before, during and after disasters. At the end of the one-day forum, Gelonga hoped that MSMEs will be more prepared during disasters. The forum is part of the activities lines up by the DOST in celebration of the National Science and Technology (NSTW) on July 25-29, 2016. The forum on July 28 will be attended by MSMEs unlike the regular disaster awareness seminar that is more focused on local government units and individuals. “We will slowly introduce the concept of continuity so that we will strengthen their operations even during and after the disasters,” Gelonga said.
