A country-wide ban has been issued by the Election Commission, on use of motorcycles from 12am of December 28 to 12am of January 1The Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Monday condemned the ban on motorcycles being used by journalists on the day of the 11th general election and urged the Election Commission to lift the ban. "Journalists have been using motorcycles to cover the previous elections," said a press release. To ensure free, fair, credible, and participatory elections, journalists have to play their part by covering the news from the field, it said. A country-wide ban has been issued by the Election Commission, on use of motorcycles from 12am of December 28 to 12am of January 1. The DRU issued the press release seeking the lift, as it otherwise will greatly hamper the reporting process in one of the most important events of the country.
