The Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Akhtaruzzaman announced this while inaugurating a program on the occasion of Dhaka University Day in the university's Mall chattor area to mark 98th founding anniversary of DU. He said the title will be given to the Bangabandhu by DU on the occasion of the upcoming ‘2020-21 Mujib Year’. Pro VC (administration) Prof Muhammad Samad, Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, DU Teachers’ Association president Prof ASM Maksud Kamal, Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani, Senate and Syndicate members were present, among others.
