As conveyed in a statement by the force public relations officer, Frank Mba, DIG Ogbizi is mandated to carry out a thorough investigation into the allegation of rape brought by Dakolo against Fatoyinbo. Ogbizi will also look into the complaint made by Fatoyinbo against the Dakolos and quiz all parties in the case to ascertain the facts of the matter. This order by the IGP comes about 24 hours after Timi Dakolo raised the alarm that the police was putting the lives of members of his family at risk over the allegation of rape of his wife, Busola, raised against Fatoyinbo. Both the Dakolos and Fatoyinbo have been in the eye of the storm since Mrs Busola Dakolo alleged that she was raped by Fatoyinbo, though Fatoyinbo denied the allegation. The police had defended its July 20 invitation of Dakolo noting that the police invitation letter should not be construed as a warrant of arrest.
