Being black is being told, at least once in your life, “You don’t sound black” by a white person you meet in person after speaking over the phone. Being black is having to explain to people the history behind the ‘N’ word and why it’s use is unacceptable. Being black is seeing Government ministers calling for racial diversity with zero black members in the cabinet.
