(AP)Srinagar: Three encounters in Kashmir on Sunday killed 19 people, including 12 militants, three soldiers and four civilians, leaving the Valley staring at a fresh spell of unrest. Nor have so many civilians been killed ever before during anti-militancy operations in a single day. The army said the dead militants included several commanders, two of them involved in last April's killing of Lt Ummer Fayaz, a 22-year-old Kashmiri, who was abducted from a wedding. Eight militants were killed in Draggad, Shopian, along with one civilian inside a house. Earlier in the day, an operation in Peth-Dialgam, Anantnag, left one militant dead while another surrendered.
