Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah held a phone call with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss recent regional developments and their implications for security and stability, the Libyan government said. According to a statement, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region amid escalating tensions and their potential impact on regional stability. Dbeibah reaffirmed Libya’s rejection of any targeting of Arab states and stressed the country’s support for the sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of the UAE. He also underlined the need to intensify diplomatic efforts and for concerned parties to return to negotiations in order to contain tensions and avoid further escalation. For his part, Sheikh Mohammed expressed appreciation for Libya’s supportive position, highlighting what he described as the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and the importance of continued coordination to support regional stability.
