Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah has inaugurated the permanent headquarters of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) in Tripoli, following the completion of renovation and upgrade works. Dbeibah said the resumption of the bloc’s work from its original base in Tripoli — where the initiative was first launched — reflected renewed international confidence in Libya. He added that the reception of high-level African delegations would strengthen the country’s position within the continent. CEN-SAD, one of the African regional groupings recognised by the African Union, aims to promote economic integration among member states. Dbeibah said its return represents a strategic step to expand cooperation in trade, investment and infrastructure, as well as to enhance security coordination in addressing shared challenges.
