YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning Valley natives, brother and sister Edward J. DeBartolo Jr. and Denise York, again rank on Forbes’ annual billionaires list. DeBartolo, 75, a real estate magnate who founded Tampa, Fla.-based DeBartolo Holdings, a property development and investment firm, is No. York’s family owns more than 90 percent of the 49ers, the NFL’s fifth-most valuable team, worth $3.5 billion, according to Forbes. Her father, Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. — property and shopping mall developer — bought the team in 1977 for $13 million. DeBartolo also owns shares in Simon Property Group, which was created when Simon merged with the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation.
