The Washington Post’s Margaret Sullivan argued that “it’s time for Hillary Clinton to face the music — and the media.”Despite the pressure, Clinton isn’t bending. She held that “pink press conference” in 1994 — a 72-minute marathon — to put to rest questions about the Whitewater land-purchase scandal. WASHINGTON — Journalists really want Hillary Clinton to hold a news conference. “Pink” refers to the sweater Clinton wore to that debut news conference — a wardrobe choice that was widely chronicled in the press at the time. Perhaps that’s why Mrs. Clinton wore pink on Friday, and spoke in a formal dining room seated in a chair, rather than standing before a podium in a more traditional business setting.
