The war in the Middle East is set to give a much-needed boost to the beleaguered UK hospitality industry, with hotels, holiday let companies, campsites and family attractions seeing a surge in bookings over Easter. However many operators, including Premier Cottages, say they do not intend to cash in on the conflict in the Middle East. AdvertisementDan Yates, founder of Pitchup.com, said campsite bookings are up 10 per cent compared with last Easter. “The political turbulence has sparked a renewed interest in domestic travel, with UK travellers seeking the comfort and familiarity of staycations,” he said. But if the war continues for many more weeks, UK tourism can expect to experience a new normal.
