Denmark Proposing Carbon Tax on Farmers With Farting Cows, Sheeps, and Pigs

Well, maybe not so funny in this case because Danish farmers face a carbon tax because of their farting cows, sheep, and pigs. As of 2030, Danish livestock farmers will be taxed 300 kroner ($43) per ton of carbon dioxide equivalent in 2030. The tax will increase to 750 kroner ($108) by 2035. Changes in consumption of food are typically much smaller than changes in the price consumers face in the grocery store. Low-income consumers would pay relatively more than the rich.
