A departing SNP MP has blamed the Scottish press for the shockingly poor start to Humza Yousaf's reign as First Minister. Dr Philippa Whitford is one of eight Nat MPs who are retiring at the next general election amid an exodus following the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon. And she claimed that newspapers in Scotland were having a negative impact on the Scottish Government, despite numerous mistakes from Mr Yousaf himself building up his poor reputation. "I think people are very impressed at how Humza is speaking about the war in Israel and Palestine. Therefore for any of them to be elected, frankly, it was going to be a big step up."
