More infoFrom his grassroots work around disability in Derby, Dr Amo Raju has now found himself feted globally after his photograph appeared on a billboard in Times Square, New York. His image appeared on the iconic billboard as part of the prestigious Forttuna Global 100 – The Legacy Makers 2025 list. He said: "Watching my name and photograph in Times Square, as a disabled man from Derby, was overwhelming. This recognition belongs to our community in Derby and to everyone who believes that barriers are made to be broken." Previously, his work earned him an OBE and he has also become a deputy to the Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire.
