Chicago-based rapper G Herbo will appear in federal court on Friday to plead guilty to fraud charges linked to a criminally inflated lifestyle filled with private jets, yachts and exclusive island getaways. The young drill rapper, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, exploded onto the music scene at just 18 years old in 2014 with his first album, “Welcome to Fazoland”; drill rap is a subgenre of the musical style, which is performed with speed, intensity, gangster lingo and sometimes mumbling. His subsequent albums reached the top 10 of Billboard 200, and Wright was featured in Forbes Magazine’s Music “30 Under 30″ roster in 2021.
