Pauline Battenbough, from North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, says her life changed forever when “baby girl” Angie tearfully called from the US to announce the lump on her chest was a “fast-growing and aggressive” breast cancer. Pauline and husband Mick, 67, launched a GoFundMe page after realising their life savings alone couldn’t cover Angie’s copayments. “More bad news was to follow when it was discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. “She had to have three operations in three weeks to try and remove the cancer but these were not successful. “We are extremely exhausted but can’t rest until we have sufficient funds to pay her medical bills and fly out to support her and her family.
