Priests and devotees offered prayers at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on the third Monday of 'Sawan' month on July 24. Devotees from far-flung places visited the temple to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. 'Sawan', dedicated to Lord Shiva, is considered to be one of the most auspicious months of the Hindu calendar. Believers observe fasts and worship Lord Shiva in 'Sawan'. This year, the holy month of 'Sawan' began on July 04 and will continue till August 31.
