The protesting students had stopped the movement of some buses plying the road for charging them extra fares. Later, some teachers of the college managed to persuade the demonstrators to clear the road and move to the college entrance, assuring them of discussing the issue with persons concerned. The protesters said the authorities must hold talks with bus owners and see to it that students are charged half the usual fares. New Market police OC Kaiyum told Bangla Tribune that vehicular movement on the road is now normal.
