Prosecutors Abdullah Abu and Tapos Paul represented the state in court while lawyer Md Moniruzzaman defended Shahed. Among the dozens of cases filed against Shahed, this is the first in which a verdict has been delivered. The two sentences were combined by the court to send Shahed to prison for life in the case. The Regent Hospital boss, who was in court, appeared impassive when the verdict was announced, according to the prosecutors. The Detective Branch of Police later submitted the chargesheet on Jul 30, naming 14 witnesses in the case.
