The increase is overwhelmingly due to Type 2 diabetes cases, a preventable condition that’s linked to obesity. The Lancet“Type 2 diabetes, which makes up the bulk of diabetes cases, is largely preventable and, in some cases, potentially reversible,” wrote the authors of the study, published Thursday in the Lancet. Every country in the world is expected to see a steep rise in diabetes cases.
