National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz has said that the dialogues with political parties are aimed at establishing a "democratic state". Riaz made the remarks in his opening speech during a dialogue with Gono Odhikar Parishad at the LD Hall of the National Parliament, according to bdnews24.com. The National Consensus Commission had sought opinions on state reform from 39 political parties via a spreadsheet format. The nine-strong delegation of Gono Odhikar Parishad included President Nurul Haque Nur, General Secretary Rashed Khan, and Senior Vice President Faruk Hasan.
