In the past we have written about “Did I say that or just think it?” moments. We cited these quotes from a press conference by then standing Fed Chair Janet Yellen. Fast forward to September 2018 and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell’s press conference yesterday where he took Chair Yellen’s uncertainty to a whole new level with several memorable “Did I say that or just think it?” moments. At some point “In Fed We Trust” will have the very stress that Chair Yellen warned about five years ago. When that happens we will likely be writing about another “Did I just say that out loud?” moment.
