Dinner in the Sky serves a gourmet dinner with a side of adventure

When the ocean views from your hotel room’s balcony are not enough, you can now take in vistas while enjoying a gourmet meal prepared by celebrity chefs with Dinner in the Sky — a heart-stopping dinner experience held nearly 46 metres in the air, arriving for the first time in Puerto Vallarta at the all-inclusive boutique hotel Casa Velas. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion with a loved one, craving a meal with friends, or simply looking for a fun way to meet fellow travellers, the one-hour culinary experience offers a remarkable Instagram-worthy moment. Groups of 22 adventurous guests are seated together around a large rectangular table, strapped into roller-coaster-like chairs, and then lifted high up in the air by a crane, to sunset views of Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre Mountains, as well as the hotel’s 18-hole golf course and manicured grounds. Guests are served a three-course gourmet dinner, designed by top national and international chefs, including Michel Mustière, Maître Cuisinier de France; Xavier Pérez Stone, Iron Chef winner in 2014; Mexican TV personality Yolanda Yanar; and Mikel Alonso and Bruno Oteiza, disciples of Spanish chef extraordinaire Juan Arzak and owners of Biko in Mexico City, which is regularly rated among the top 50 restaurants in the world. Daily Dinner in the Sky menus vary based on which chef is hosting, so check out the calendar at dinnerintheskypv.com.
