Maidenhead Hockey Club’s director of hockey, David Joshua, has said he’s putting the structure and processes in place to put the club ‘back on the map’ with the aim of bringing success to teams across all ages and sections. However, Joshua - who became the club’s director in April 2022 - is keen to move the spotlight away from first team results and onto the club’s ambitious plans to drive the club forward at every level. He’s now in the process of tapping into the talent that’s in local schools and encouraging those players to choose hockey and Maidenhead Hockey Club over other local clubs and winter sports. We need to tap into the boys in the area, which is a difficult thing to do when they’re not playing hockey in schools. We need to tap into schools and get them playing hockey.
