Disney+ ended the most recent quarter with 103.6 million subscribers worldwide, the company reported. As a result, Disney shares fell roughly 4 percent in after-hours trading on Thursday. Disney executives, speaking on a conference call with analysts, repeatedly reiterated that Disney+ remained “on track” to reach 230 million to 260 million subscribers by the end of 2024. Netflix also had sluggish subscriber growth in the recent quarter, announcing on April 20 that it added four million customers, below the six million it had forecast. Netflix has 207.6 million subscribers worldwide.
