The late foremost agronomist, businessman and PUNCH director, Dr. Lekan Are, will be buried on Friday, February 21, 2020. In a statement sent to PUNCH by the family, on Friday, Are's funeral will hold between February 17 and 21. Are, aged 86, died about 12:30 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness. Born on December 2, 1933, Are had his secondary education at Government College Ibadan and studied at the University of Ibadan for a degree in agriculture. In his lifetime, Are was a former president of the Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association and a Trustee of the association.
