THE Department of Health (DoH) will adapt the suggestion of Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando to tap the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials to help in its national immunization program for children. Katrina Anne Balingit, head of the Provincial Public Affairs Office, confirmed on Monday that DoH Undersecretary Enrique Tayag announced recently that the agency will adapt Fernando's suggestion to mobilize SK officials nationwide to increase its immunization coverage. In Bulacan, Fernando suggested that immunization teams empower SK officials to help reach the target of inoculating 95 percent of the children in the province against measles, rubella, tetanus, among others. This is why the governor wants to intensify the campaign for immunization on children.
