A doctor who was forced out of a hospital in Cork after managers discovered that he had a conviction for downloading child pornography is now working in an English hospital. Philip McAndrew, 56, a Scottish consultant radiologist, was found working in Barnsley after a source tipped off The Sun. In 1998 Dr McAndrew was fined £1,500 after he admitted downloading pornographic images, which his own lawyer described as “revolting”, of young children on his computer. The judge noted that he was not a danger to children and he was not struck off the medical register as a result of the conviction.
