He assured that there would be no new regulation on the hiring of off-budget staff until the terms of the regulation are acceptable to all agencies. They had originally planned to protest outside the Finance Ministry today and march to Government House if their negotiations with the Finance Ministry were unsuccessful. The Public Health Ministry alone currently employs more than 140,000 off-budget workers for both primary and supportive jobs at state hospitals across the country, especially at hospitals in the rural areas that heavily rely on off-budget workers. Kriengsak said as the Finance Ministry had agreed to consult all related agencies to improve the regulation, the network of rural doctors would closely monitor the process of improving the regulation. He warned that the networks would launch a protest against the ministry if the process were not clear within 30 days.
