Dog show judge airlifted after fall

A woman working as a judge at a dog show event has been badly injured after falling from the judges' box. The 35-year-old, of Te Awamutu, suffered serious head and chest injuries when she fell down the stairs this afternoon. The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to a farm just south of of Ohura, near Taumarunui, about 3.30pm. A dog trial event was happening at the time and the woman had been one of the judging panel. She was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
