The U.S. dollar rose as investors sought safe currencies amid signs that trade tensions between the U.S. and China are deepening. The WSJ Dollar Index, which measures the U.S. currency against a basket of 16 others, rose for the third consecutive trading session, increasing 0.2% to 91.23. The dollar also reached its highest level against the euro in more than a year, rising 0.3% against the currency to $1.1132 per euro.
