Donor of unused €30,000 gift to Children’s Health Ireland for Christmas party is named

A company which provides food services and facilities management to hospitals and other State funded bodies has been named as the donor of €30,000 to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) for its Christmas party. He said the CHI board ordered that the money be returned to the donor after his auditors brought it to their attention. She said it should not have been accepted and CHI no longer holds large Christmas parties. Aramark provides food services and facilities management to hospitals and other State-funded institutions. During an audit, his staff found the money in an account controlled by CHI and the “unreleased” fund was returned to the donor.
