Some are critical of this celebration quoting “this is America not Mexico” as if the people are disrespecting this country by celebrating. Quite the contrary actually, this is the country that allows all of its members the right to free assembly to free speech against political oppressors is it not? It’s the beacon of hope that all who wish to pave their own way can migrate to and create a better life for themselves.
