Following news that the United States saw better-than-expected job growth in June, North American stock markets made solid gains on Friday, while the Canadian dollar traded lower. On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 250.86 points to finish at 18,146.74. The price for benchmark North American crude oil finished up 27 cents at $45.41 US per barrel.
