“It was a roller coaster of a week for the stock market,” said Kristina Hooper, chief global market strategist at Invesco. The S&P lost 5 percent on the week and is down 6 percent for 2020. Boeing, Dow Chemical and Raytheon Technologies paced the Dow upward on Friday. Nine of 11 stock market sectors were positive, with financial and real estate the big winners. But by Thursday, there was a sense the stock market had come back too far, too fast.
