Drinking culture means Glasgow is UK’s least affordable city for students

A survey has found that despite the city’s comparatively reasonable housing costs, the below-average income of students coupled with their hectic social lives leaves undergraduates struggling financially — more than their counterparts in more expensive cities such as London or Edinburgh. The study by RBS found that Glasgow students survive on £786.60 a month, less than half of the typical £1,583 monthly term-time income of a student in Aberdeen.
