Driver injured, power out after Mosgiel crash

A driver was seriously injured and more than 100 people lost electricity after a car hit a power pole in Mosgiel early today. A police spokeswoman said the crash in Gladstone Rd South brought power lines down over the car and "knocked out'' the electricity supply to some customers in the area about 3am. The driver, a man in his 30s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, she said. A Delta spokeswoman said power was cut to 105 consumers. The power pole was replaced and power was restored to all customers around 8.15am.
