Drop in tea sales put down to vanity of young people


Vanity appears to be part of the problem, with half of young people worrying that too much… Sales of ordinary tea bags are plummeting as 16 to 34-year-olds turn to other drinks, including green and fruit teas, according to market research. Their woes are manifold, from runaway house prices to student debts, but young people do not appear to be turning to the traditional cuppa for comfort. Fewer than one in six young people is drinking five or more cups of standard black tea a day whereas people aged 55-64 are twice as likely to do so, the study found.
