Students were heard shouting slogans demanding Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman resign from his position as the university’s vice-chancellor, and that a re-reun of the Ducsu election be held. Speaking to the Dhaka Tribune, Samajtantrik Chhatra Dal General Secretary Rashed Shahriar said: “The protest demonstration will continue until our demands are met. We reject the Ducsu election results, and demand that a re-run of the elections be organized.”Chhatra Dal steps inChhatra Dal, BNP's student wing, has joined in the protests of the opposition panel. Speaking with the Dhaka Tribune, central Chhatra Dal General Secretary Akramul Hasan said: “We will not accept the results of the Ducsu election. The direction of our ongoing protest demonstration will be decided at a later time.”Meanwhile, a general secretary candidate from Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal in the recently-held Ducsu polls, Anisur Rahman Khandakar Anik, demanded the election results be cancelled.
