Dust off your winter boots — it’s coming

For the Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park areas, the agency predicts anywhere from three to eight centimetres of snow. EDMONTON—It’s not even autumn and weather alerts from Environment Canada predicts a curtain of wet, heavy snowfall for much of central Alberta. As chilly air spills down from the Northwest Territories over the next couple days, cold slushy weather is expected to creep south and east throughout the day, reaching the city by this evening, and possibly reaching Banff by Thursday. The heaviest falls are expected to land between Grand Prairie and Jasper, which could see as much as 10 to 15 centimetres of snow. Members of the public can report severe weather to Environment Canada by email, or by tweeting #ABStorm.
