President Duterte is besieged by his campaign against drug lords and the proliferation of drugs all over the country. This is a war between good and evil, between criminals, murderer and rapists and innocent victims. Some people have argued that opposition to the death penalty and opposition to legalized abortion are equally important. He said those who insist that the death penalty is not a deterrent to crime do not understand his position on the issue. Criminologists are divided about whether the death penalty deters others from committing serious crimes to a greater extent than lifelong imprisonment.
