Share TweetBy Argyll Cyrus GeducosPresident Duterte conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu, Rank of Kalasag on four policemen killed in an ambush by members of the New People’s Army (NPA) in Ayungon, Negros Oriental Saturday. Duterte led the conferment of the Order of Lapu-Lapu during the awarding rites at Camp Francisco Fernandez, Sibulan, Negros Oriental late Saturday evening. Dependents of soldiers and policemen killed in action receive P250,000 financial assistance from the government while other benefits are extended through the Comprehensive Social Benefit Program. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) also provide scholarships to dependents of soldiers and policemen killed in combat.
