Trump, the country’s top diplomat to Washington, D.C. said on Wednesday. “There’s no definite date but he’ll definitely go to the United States. It could be recalled that Trump conveyed his invitation to Duterte to visit Washington during Manila’s hosting of the ASEAN summit in November, 2017. Last year, US State Secretary Mike Pompeo raised the possibility of a second meeting between Trump and Duterte as a follow-up to the “productive and warm friendship” that the two developed during the US president’s visit in Manila almost two years ago.
